Fans are waiting excitedly for the release of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, and now their appetite is being whetted even further. It seems the roster of characters that will be available to players when the game launches has been leaked. Strangely, there aren’t any characters from X-Men or the Fantastic 4 on the list, which might disappoint some.
Launch roster leaked for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite
NeoGAF user Ryce said he/she was given permission to share the character roster for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. Ryce was the one who informed the gaming community that the game was in development even before its existence was officially announced. They seem to be in the know on these games as they have leaked details that turned out to be accurate in the past, according to Eurogamer, which also reports that the leaked roster matches everything it has heard about the game.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite was officially announced at PlayStation Experience last year. The game will contain 28 fighters at launch, with 14 from the Marvel side and 14 from Capcom. At the time of the announcement, the developer said the game would have Captain Marvel, Mega Man, Ryu and Iron Man. More recently, they offered up more characters in a Marvel vs. Capcom trailer: the Hulk, Hawkeye, Thor, Rocket Raccoon, Ultron, Chris Redfield, Strider Hiryu and Chun-Li.

The leaker included a list next to the Rocket Raccoon/ Groot listing that this was how the character’s name was given. He/she wasn’t sure whether the character will be “just Rocket Raccoon with Groot assists or a redesigned character actually called Rocket/Groot.”

Ryce noted that there is one character missing from the Capcom side of the game and floated Frank West as the likely candidate. Of course, given that this is a leak, this list could be flat out wrong, or it may just not have been finalized yet and still be subject to change. The NeoGAF user also revealed that Venom will be added later as downloadable content, and another user of the forum mentioned Sigma as a downloadable content addition coming later.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is scheduled to be released on Sept. 19 for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
