2017 is my transition year from the second stage of my life (in which others depend on me) to the third stage (in which no one is dependent and I’m free). Now my goal is to help others be successful rather than to be more successful myself. For that reason, I’m passing along the principles that helped me and Bridgewater succeed. If you’re interested in them, I’ll be sharing my TED talk next week or you can get a significantly revised and expanded version of Principles, which will be published on September 19.
My principles are certainly unconventional, but I believe that they can be used by just about anyone or any organization to more effectively achieve whatever goals they’re going after. For a long time I thought it would be presumptuous of me to share them with others, but after posting the principles online, I was surprised by how much interest they received and by the many letters I received from all over the world letting me know about the impact they’ve had on people’s lives.
Because of your interest, I wanted you to be among the first to know about the revised version of the book and to have a chance to pre-order it. Over the coming weeks, I’ll also be working with my team to keep you updated on news about the book and my TED talk.
