Test Drive Android Wear On Moto 360 Using This APK

Updated on

Motorola was the first to announce the Moto 360 right after Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s announcement of Android Wear, the company’s operating system for wearables like the smartwatch. Google too had made it clear in the announcement that it would be first focusing on the smartwatch front, and then on other wearables.

Get the Android Wear experience right now on your Android device

Motorola with the Moto 360 has come up with a pretty attractive watch running on Android Wear OS, and now the APK can be downloaded for free which allows you to emulate the experience on your Android device.

Companies like Samsung have already become the first to launch Android based smartwatches, but they were not successful in doing so. Samsung has taken the step of announcing the second generation of its smartwatch known as Gear 2, but instead of running on Android, it runs on Tizen OS.

So if you’re excited about Android Wear, and don’t want to wait for the release of the Moto 360 in the retail market, then you can try out Android Wear Preview Launcher on your Android device which will emulate Moto 360’s interface so that you can get an idea of how the new OS looks and works.

The launcher is packed with features like clock (of course), weather, alarm, calling, messages and more. You’ll not be able to get exactly the same experience but still it will give you a rough idea of what you can expect from Android Wear.

To get this launcher, you’ll need to be running on Android 4.4 KitKat, and then install the APK.
