Sony Corp (ADR) (NYSE:SNE)’s PlayStation 4 has been selling like hot cakes since its launch. The Japanese company announced in August that it had sold 10 million units of PlayStation 4. But if you have still been waiting for special Black Friday deals on the gaming console, Sony has one, in fact two, for you. Sony’s VP of platforms marketing John Koller said in a blog post that interested buyers can pick up one of the two bundles for just $400.
Get two games for free with PlayStation 4
However, Sony’s deal is not for the entire holiday season. It’s only a traditional Black Friday deal. In the first bundle, you’ll get a PlayStation 4 with Grand Theft Auto V along with a digital download voucher for The Last of Us Remastered. The second option is Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham with a digital download voucher for LittleBigPlanet 3 along with 500GB PlayStation 4 console.
The two bundles will be available in the U.S. as well as Canada. However, the Canadian gamers will have to shell out $450 for the deal. Sony’s announcement wasn’t a big surprise considering the company last month announced a similar bundle in Japan. The PlayStation 4 normally costs $400. That means you’ll get the two games for free on Black Friday. The bundles will be available through local retailers on Black Friday “while supplies last.”
GameStop offers an additional discount on Xbox One
Walmart is offering PlayStation 4 on Thanksgiving Day for $399, plus you’ll get a $50 Walmart gift card. Meanwhile, Microsoft has announced the holiday-long $50 discount off its Xbox One gaming console. Xbox One sales have lagged behind the PlayStation 4. But GameStop makes the Xbox One deal even better. After Microsoft’s $50 discount, Xbox One without Kinect 2 sensor is going for $350. GameStop has reduced it by another $20, offering the console for just $330. What’s more, its package includes digital copies of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed Unity.
The Xbox One with Kinect 2 sensor will be available on GameStop at just $430. This offer is good only for Friday, Nov.28 and Saturday, Nov.29. Moreover, GameStop will also be giving you a $30 discount on a year’s subscription to Xbox Live Gold.
