Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) unveiled its six new gadgets overnight at Nokia World in Abu Dhabi. The new gadgets include two new 6-inch phablets, Nokia’s first Lumia tablet and three new handsets for its Asha line, according to CNET.
Nokia unveils Lumia phablets
The two phablets include one that’s more of a high-end device and another that’s a low-end device. The high-end model is the Lumia 1520, and it has a 6-inch 1080p full HD display. It is 8.6 millimeters thin and features a 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 80 processor plus a 3,400 mAh battery. That battery is said to last eight to 10 hours. The 1520 also has a 20-megapixel camera, a backside sensor to assist with taking photos in low light, and a number of picture editing features. The unsubsidized price for this device is $749. At this point we don’t know which U.S. carriers will be supporting it.
Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V)’s Lumia 1320 is a more affordable phablet which features a 6-inch screen like the 1520. However, its specs have been stripped down to make the price more affordable. It has a matt polycarbonate finish on it with a 720p HD screen plus a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor. The 1320 has just 8 GB of storage, while the 1520 has 32 GB, and an 5-megapixel camera. The battery is the same one that’s in the 1520. The unsubsidized price for the 1320 is $339.
Nokia reveals its Lumia tablet
The first Lumia tablet is the 2520, and like the other Lumia devices, it’s thin, stylish and solid. The back is slightly curved, and it has a 10.1-inch screen with full 1080p resolution. Like the Lumia handsets, it will be available in white, black, cyan and red. The tablet has both 4G LTE and Wi-Fi capabilities and runs on Windows RT.
The 2520 features a Snapdragon 800 processor and an 8,000 mAh battery. Like Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s keyboard accessory for its Surface tablets, Nokia will also offer a power keyboard which adds five more hours onto the 2520’s battery life. The tablet sells for $499, while the power keyboard sells for $149.
Nokia’s new Asha phones
The three new additions to Nokia’s Asha line of phones include the 500, 502 and 503. They feature 2G and 3G capabilities and a clear plastic casing. The 502 and 503 both have 5-megapixel cameras, a 3-inch screen and can handle dual-SIMs.
The three new Asha handsets are priced between $70 and $100 and will only be sold in emerging markets.
Nokia reveals Instagram coming soon
Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) was just full of goodies overnight. The company also revealed that Instagram is finally coming to Windows Phone, according to Carly Page of The Inquirer. The company has been “screaming” for Instagram to go to Windows Phone for the last 18 months, and the ultra-popular photography app will be the perfect addition to the Lumia line, which is known for its outstanding cameras.
