The Microsoft Xbox One X was launched during the E3 event last month, with the maker talking about the price and a slew of new games that will come on the console. With pre-orders to go live soon (no firm date given yet though), Microsoft wants waiting customers to know that the Xbox One X is the most powerful console available and is worth every penny spent on it.
Worth every penny
Microsoft’s Dave McCarthy told GameSpot that players who want the best will not have any second thought about the Xbox One X. According to McCarthy, the real difference will be very visible to the eyes of players who will see how the already released titles perform even better on the newest console.
McCarthy agreed that at $500, the Xbox One X is significantly more expensive than the PS4 Pro, the arch rival and the console that the Xbox One X is often compared to. However, the executive defends the pricing of the console, stating that he is not aware of any other console that is a perfect blend of power and performance at the price.
“…..if you really place a premium on ultra-high definition, high fidelity, spatial audio, all those things, you will not find a better price, performance combination and design than you will with Xbox One X,” McCarthy said.
Separately, Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra says the price of the Xbox One X can be justified on every front. The executive said that if the Xbox One X were a PC, it would have come with a price tag of $1,500.
“The console is fixed hardware, so we know exactly what GPU, CPU and memory is in that box,” Ybarra told TechRadar previously.
All you need to know about the Microsoft Xbox One X
The Microsoft Xbox One X is not expected to hit store shelves anytime before November 7. The console boasts immersive and powerful features, three times the memory of the Xbox One S, terabyte storage and strong graphics. The console also comes with 4K capabilities.
Due to the 4K feature, the company will also need to extend its support to multiple versions of the same game. Existing games would need a 4K assets patch in order to run on the newest console. Gamers not looking to change their television anytime soon will not have to worry because the console is perfectly capable of running on 1080p displays.
Meanwhile, fans are eagerly waiting for Microsoft to divulge details about preorders, but nothing has come out as of yet. However, retailers such as Target, Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop, Amazon and many others have already put up a banner saying that they will soon start notifying customers when preorders open.
However, the mystery continues regarding the delay in preorders, with some assuming that since shipments will not start until November, the company might start taking preorders some time around the launch date. Another possibility is that the Xbox One X has yet to receive approval from the Federal Communications Commission.
