Get 1GB Free Space By Linking Mailbox App With Dropbox

Updated on

As we know, Dropbox has acquired Mailbox, an email client for iPhone and iPad that works only with Gmail or Google Apps account. You can add up to five Gmail or Google Apps to get a unified, simple and less cluttered experience. While we’ve previously never seen any evidence of the two companies working together, this time, we’re in for a treat.

Mailbox now supports attachments from Dropbox, and if you link your Dropbox account to Mailbox, then you can get a sweet 1GB of free storage space on the cloud. Wouldn’t it be great to get an extra gig on Dropbox? Yes, it would!

To get your 1 GB of free storage, you must of course be signed up with Dropbox. If you don’t have signed-up already, then head over to Dropbox.com or install the Dropbox app on your iOS device and then create an account. Next, simply follow the below steps.

  1. Install the Mailbox app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
  2. Login to your Gmail account on Mailbox.
  3. Link your Dropbox account to the Mailbox app. To do this, go to Mailbox’s settings menu and tap on the option to add Dropbox account.

That’s it. Now you just need to check your Dropbox account and you’ll see that you’ve got an extra gig of space, for free.

But wait, if you’ve already linked your Dropbox and Mailbox accounts before this deal, then there’s still a way to benefit from this deal. Simply unlink Dropbox from Mailbox and then link it again. That should give you extra space on Dropbox.

Even though you’re not planning to use this space, you should still get it, as who knows you might require that extra storage in future.
