Galaxy S7: New Leak Confirms Lack Of USB Type-C Port

Updated on

Samsung is just a couple of days away from unveiling its flagship Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in Barcelona. There is no stopping the leaks and rumors related to the upcoming phones. Now a Weibo user has shared an image of the bottom panel of the Galaxy S7 that may disappoint those who were expecting a USB Type-C port. In the leaked image, the S7 can be seen sporting a regular Micro-USB port rather than a USB Type-C port as previously rumored.

Some disappointed, but a few others must be happy

It indicates that Samsung has chosen to stick to the tried and tested method, while postponing the Type-C. The Galaxy Note 6 is rumored to feature a USB Type-C port. Of course, some people who have many micro-USB cables would be happy with Samsung’s decision. In another leak, Evan Blass of VentureBeat shared an image of silver galaxy S7 on Twitter.

Blass had previously shared images of the S7 in gold and black colors, while the S7 Edge was spotted in white, gold, and black colors. Separately, Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin said in a tweet that the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will get Always-On display. LG is also set to debut its flagship G5 on February 21 that will feature Always-On display.

Samsung to live stream Galaxy S7 event in 360-degree

Samsung has confirmed that its February 21 launch event will be presented in 360-degree live streaming. It will be the first time when viewers will be able to enjoy the Galaxy Unpacked event in 360-degree view. During the event, you will get four options for where to watch: from the stage left, stage right, auditorium, or from center stage. Pick your spot and use 360-degree live streaming to enjoy a complete view of the event.

A few days ago, Samsung Indonesia posted a teaser video, which shows off a water-resistant Galaxy S7. Both the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are set to hit the store shelves in the US and Europe on March 11.
