The much-awaited Galaxy Unpacked event is just around the corner. Ahead of the official unveiling of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge on Sunday in Barcelona, Samsung Indonesia has posted a teaser video on YouTube. There have already been plenty of leaks related to the upcoming phones. The new teaser video features a prominent Indonesian athlete that uses the dual-edge Galaxy S7 Edge to help her achieve her goals.
Galaxy S7 to go on sale on March 11
The video implores you to get ready for #TheNextGalaxy. The new phone’s design looks pretty similar to the current flagship Galaxy S6. A rainy segment in the video confirms the previous reports of waterproofing. The teaser also shows that there is no camera bump on the rear panel. The phone offers support for wireless charging and the Gear S2 smartwatch.
Gold, white black/blue color options appear in the video. A Samsung Indonesia webpage teasing the Galaxy S7 launch offers a few more details. It suggests that the new phone would feature improved privacy, better low-light camera performance, and water-resistant build. Separately, a tipster told Engadget that the rumored March 11 launch date was correct. The tipster added that both the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will have SIM card/microSD card slots on the top, and both will be IP68 waterproof certified.
Expect a Batman vs Superman Galaxy S7 Edge edition
Famous tipster Evan Blass posted a few images of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge on Twitter over the weekend. The renders show S7 in black and gold colors, while the S7 Edge can be seen in black, white and gold color options. In a related report, a South Korean publication has learned from inside sources that Samsung is working on a special edition of the Galaxy S7 Edge for the Batman vs Superman movie that will release in March. Last year, Samsung had partnered with Marvel to bring the Galaxy S6 Edge Iron Man edition in select countries.
Both the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are said to feature a 3D Touch-like pressure sensitive display, a USB Type-C port, a microSD card slot, a 12-megapixel main camera, and Android Marshmallow.
