Galaxy Note 5 Prototype In Gold Leaked; No Auto-Ejectable Stylus

Updated on

Samsung’s next-gen Galaxy Note 5 prototype has been leaked in a series of images. The latest photos obtained by French website NoWhereElse.fr show the Note 5 dressed up in gold color, and confirm its previously rumored design elements. What’s more, new details coming out of Korea suggest that the Galaxy Note 5 will not feature an auto-ejectable stylus.

AT&T variant of Galaxy Note 5?

The gold Galaxy Note 5 photos show a couple of AT&T apps, indicating that it is the AT&T variant. The shade of gold color appears to be the same as that of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Samsung is widely expected to launch the Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ at a special event in New York on August 13. The phones are set to hit the stores in major markets on August 21. The Korean company wants to gain an upper hand against its arch-rival Apple by launching its devices about a month before the next-gen iPhones arrive.

Another image sheds light on the S Pen stylus ejection mechanism.Ever since Samsung was granted patent for an auto-ejectable stylus in June, there have been consistent rumors that the feature may appear in the Galaxy Note 5. A few days ago, Korean website DDaily shot down those rumors. It reported that users will have manually pop out the stylus because the Galaxy Note 5 would use the same ejection mechanism as its predecessors.

Auto-ejectable stylus may not appear in the Galaxy Note 5

The new images from NoWhereElse.fr reiterate DDaily’s stance. You could see a small gap to let you use your index finger to take out the stylus. But then the gap could be for pressing the stylus to enable auto-ejection. The Galaxy Note 5 will reportedly feature a 5.67-inch Super AMOLED display, 4GB RAM, Exynos 7422 processor, and a massive 4,100mAh battery. The device is rumored to sport a 16-megapixel main camera with OIS and 5MP front-facing camera.

Samsung will also launch Galaxy S6 Edge+. This device with a dual-edge display will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and 3GB RAM.
