Find Your Facebook Friends Ranking Score

Updated on

Facebook ranks your friends based on some algorithm, but how exactly it works is not clear. It basically keeps a score for every friend that you interact with.

Find Your Facebook Friends Ranking Score

This rank affects the order of results in several places such as:

  • When you visit the Friends section on someone’s profile
  • When you start typing a friend’s name in search box
  • Which content to give high priority in the News Feed

So how does Facebook ranks friends? Arjun Sreedharan has created a tool that lists your friends according to Facebook’s rank. It would be really interesting to see the results. Here’s how this tool works:

  1. Go to this site and drag and drop the bookmarklet into your browser’s bookmark bar. Once you drop it, it would have the name “FB Friends Ranking.”
  2. Login to Facebook and then click on this bookmark.
  3. You’ll now be able to see a complete list of your Facebook friends ranking score.

Here’s how the page will look. Friends names have been blocked in the below screenshot.

The column of scores would not be much useful as we don’t know what exactly that means. Sreedharan says that the smaller the friend’s score, the higher the rank.

For me, this tool in fact delivered very accurate results. Try it out.
