There is tension across the country after an announcement tonight that a St. Louis grand jury has decided that Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson will not face charges in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown. President Barack Obama has called for both sides to remain calm, but in some locations there have been instances of looting and rioting. It must be noted, that many (if not most) protests remain peaceful as supporters of Michael Brown express disappointment with the ruling tonight.
Right now it is not clear what will happen next in Ferguson or in other locations across the country. Protests have propped up in various cities outside the St. Louis areas in places such as Times Square, New York and other locations across the nation. There have been reports of live bullets by protesters, burning of police cars, and tear gas use by law enforcement.
