He loves helping people make well-educated decisions that can enhance their financial position and takes a comprehensive approach when working with clients to achieve their retirement goals. Kovar and his partners started Great Waters Financial in 2012 and have quickly built an organization that includes 25 employees and four offices throughout the Minneapolis area. Kovar started his career helping people with their personal finances in 2003. For nearly the last decade, his sole focus has been on working with people who are in and nearing retirement, helping them plan for financial stability and clarity. Elijah loves seeing his clients become free to pursue their dreams, enjoy time with their families and give back to the community with their time and talents, even after retirement. With years of experience in advisory and leadership roles, Kovar, along with Johnson and Halverson, formed Great Waters Financial to develop holistic solutions for their clients so they can live a purposeful life in their retirement years. Teaching plays a key role in Kovar’s practice. Over the course of his career, he has educated thousands of individuals around the state of Minnesota on asset protection, tax planning strategies, investments and retirement income planning. Kovar is an investment advisor representative and maintains licenses in life, health and long-term care insurance. He is also a member of Ed Slott’s Elite IRA Advisor GroupSM and a member of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors). Elijah is married to his wife, Erica, and they have four children—Barrett, Adrianna, Angelina and Gianni. In his spare time he enjoys exercising, golfing, and reading.
