Zynga Leases Large Portion Of HQ To Practice Fusion

Updated on

Zynga, the struggling game giant, is making good use of their headquarters by loaning out a large portion of space to Practice Fusion, a company that provides electronic medial records to doctors. The medical records company already has an office at 420 Taylor Street.

Exciting changes for Practice Fusion

Practice Fusion has seen much growth, especially in the past year. The company reached over 300 employees and raised $85 million from a funding round with Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers. The company even added offices in Seattle and Palo Alto. The new headquarters will help Practice Fusion expand even further this year. The new space was designed to improve the company’s corporate culture with free meals for the employees, a canine-friendly environment, and more.

Biz Journals added, “The deal comes after several years of speculation that Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA) would lease some of its valuable SoMa space to other users. After all, Zynga never occupied the entire 670,000 square foot property and has been shrinking in recent months, laying off 520 workers last spring. But real estate sources familiar with the building say that Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA) is not giving up any of the space it has actually occupied in the building — though the gaming company built out improvements on the fourth and fifth floors of the east wing, it never moved into that space.”

Practice Fusion’s CEO talks plans

Practice Fusion won’t move into Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA)’s headquarters until the middle of the year. The Zynga building (which has the address 650 Townsend) is adjacent to other big tech companies such as Pinterest and AirBnB. The company’s chief executive officer and founder believes this move will be the next big thing for Practice Fusion. He said they have an unmatched network of doctors and patients nationwide. Howard also believes his team continues their dedication to save lives and improve the health of patients.
