Zynga Inc (ZNGA) And SessionM To Offer In-Game Real-World Rewards

Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA) has partnered with SessionM to offer in game, real world rewards for player. SessionM, which is a Boston based firm, has for long provided rewards for its mobile loyalty and ad platform. The firm will port its redeemable rewards in Zynga Scramble with Friends mobile social games, says a report from VentureBeat.

“Zynga is committed to delivering the most innovative and meaningful ways for our global network of players to engage with their favorite brands,” said Adam Sussman, senior vice president of sales and distribution for Zynga. He added that Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA) will be successful in launching the first ever real reward game after entering into partnership with SessionM. Further, the brands will get their value enhanced and reach the target audience.

Points can be exchanged with rewards

Users will get mpoints on unlocking in game achievements from SessionM. Later these points can be exchanged for rewards like iTune and Amazon gift cards. These points can also be used to participate in SessionM sweepstakes and contests. Through these redeemable points for real reward strategy, the companies are trying to address the problem of dropping an app, by the user just, after one time use.

From July, users will see an icon in the game Scramble with friends that will give a choice to play for achievements and gain loyalty points. Those users who have been regular and active will get the reward and brand advertisers will get a chance to show engagement-based video ads.

Win situation for both Zynga and SessionM

 Bill Clifford, chief revenue officer at SessionM said that it is an opportunity to add Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA), in the list of partners, in a bid to maintain the world’s largest reward network. He added that Zynga has a huge user base who will be delighted on receiving the rewards. He further said that it is a ‘win’ situation for both.

SessionM was established in 2011, and advertisers of the firm include State Farm, Degree, HBO, Old Navy, Universal Studios etc. It has been providing these reward points to users for a while now.

SessionM employs 60 people and has raised funds worth 26.5 million to date from Charles River Ventures, Highland Capital, and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. SessionM’s development partners are Crackle, Runtastic, Moviefone, The Weather Channel, Family Feud & Friends, MTV News, and Dictionary.com. The founders include Lars Albright, Scott Weller, and Mark Herrmann.
