The Coolest Superhero Vehicles – and How They Have Changed Over the Years

Updated on

Always dreamt of driving the batmobile? Think the Hell Cycle from Ghost Rider has never looked better? Or would you just love to be in the party wagon of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

Whichever ride takes your fancy from the superhero classics, you can now compare how the vehicles have evolved over the years throughout the films of the franchise, including Batman, Captain America and Spiderman. Netentstalker.com have created a stunning graphic to visualise the timeline of your favourite superhero’s vehicle here.

The Batmobile

Whichever crime-fighting vehicle you picture when you think of the Batmobile, you can now have a look at all of them. The 1941 car, though groundbreaking at the time, is a far cry from the sporty 1997 version from ‘Batman & Robin’. However, we don’t think the sleek and sexy batmobile from the 2016 film, ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’, can ever be topped.

The Hell Cycle

The first time the cycle (and the skull-headed rider) appeared in the comics, it was pretty ordinary-lookingas far as motorcycles go. But by the time Nicolas Cage got around to starring in the 2007 film, it had a full-on heavy metal design and flaming wheels. The role of the hero has moved a couple of times, and the latest version has a 1969 Dodge Charger known as the Hell Charger instead (which also has flaming wheels).

The Goblin Glider

Has there ever been such an incredible transformation as the Green Goblin’s ride? Although the Spider-Man villain originally had a jet-powered broomstick, Marvel made the entirely reasonable decision to swap it out for something a little less comical (and allowing for more gadget space) in the form of the glider – which is now an essential part of the character’s appearance and identity.

In 2012, the glider evolved into a state-of-the-art, menacing machine that is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

The Turtle Van Party Wagon

As well as some DC and Marvel stars, the graphic also has a look at the Turtle Van (aka Battle Shell, aka Shellraiser, aka the Party Wagon), the armoured conveyance for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which started life as essentially just a van with some modifications, and worked its way through being an armoured car, and then a subway car (since the Turtles spend most of their time underground).

Whichever way you prefer of getting about, make sure to check out the complete list of design changes, vehicle alterations, and upgrades on the full infographic here.
