Sprint's Galaxy S3 Owners Receive Jelly Bean Update

Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) has become the first U.S. carrier to receive the Android Jelly Bean update for Samsung’s flagship phone – the Galaxy S3. This update is available as an over-the-air (also known as OTA) update to Galaxy S3 users as of today, October 25.

This Android 4.1.1 update brings lots of new additions for Galaxy S3 owners. To begin with, Google Now will be available, which is Google’s offering that gets you the right information at just the right time, for example, how much traffic to expect before you leave for work, or when will the next train arrive, etc. Google now can be launched by pressing and holding the menu key from the home screen.

This update will bring several other additions like: Android Beam, multiple keyboard options to include Swype, the Easy Mode, the Blocking Mode, support for accessories with NFC One Touch Pairing, and Camera enhancements. The camera enhancements include: New live camera and camcorder filters, pause and resume while recording video, and low light photo mode.

If you are a Sprint Galaxy S3 owner, just keep an eye on the update notification to arrive to your handset. Install this update and add some amazing new features to your Galaxy S3.
