Sony Announces Xperia SP And Xperia L Phones

The Sony Xperia SP smartphone features a bright 4.6-inch 720-pixel HD Reality Display, 4G LTE, aluminium frame and 8-megapixel camera. It is available in three color choices including black, white, and red. The HD Reality Display features technology that is similar to the technology found on Bravia line-up of televisions, which will ensure the pictures are brighter and sharper. This phone will also feature technology that automatically adjust the display all based on how the picture is viewed.

The Sony Xperia L features a 4.3-inch FWVGA display, 8-megapixel camera, Sony Exmor RS technology, and NFC. The Exmore RS technology, which helps the user, takes more quality photos.

Both new phones will feature a special “stamina” mode that allows users to get more usage from a single battery charge.

The Director of Xperia Marketing for Sony Mobile Communications, Calum MacDougall explained, “Both of our new models benefit from Sony’s proven innovation and engineering expertise – whether you want to enjoy premium HD quality entertainment over 4G LTE on our mid-range Xperia SP or capture every moment in perfect detail with our more affordable Xperia L.”

These smartphones will be available for purchase sometime during the second quarter.

Sony’s foray into the smartphone market has yet to be a fully successful one but nonetheless they keep trying. The two new phones that were introduced today might hold some appeal for those who want a smartphone that is not Apple or Samsung; this might be a real alternative to consider. The Xperia phones run on Android operating system so Xperia users will still enjoy the many rewards that come with Android-based smartphones.
