Samsung Promises To Fix Galaxy Note 9 Camera Issues

Updated on

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9 is one of the best smartphones released this year. However, many users have complained about a variety of issues with the ridiculously expensive phablet. In the past, there have been reports of the S Pen stylus breaking down, the edge lighting feature not working properly, and the speakers not functioning as intended. And some users have complained about the Galaxy Note 9 camera issues since the phone’s launch in August. It looks like the Korean company could fix the Note 9 camera problems soon.

Forum moderator says the Note 9 camera issues to be fixed soon

Folks at Piunikaweb reported back in September that the Note 9 was facing numerous camera-related problems. Some users said the camera would lag or freeze, while others said the camera app would fail to launch. For some, a “Camera failed” warning would pop up on the screen, ruining the whole experience. One of the affected users managed to capture the problem in a video.

A Samsung forum moderator confirmed the Note 9 camera issues in September, and said the company was working on a fix. However, the moderator declined to give a timeline to release the fix, saying the problem is “more difficult to fix” than Samsung engineers thought. Users have been waiting for a solution since. The November patch didn’t fix the camera problems, neither did the latest camera update.

Fortunately, a fix appears to be on the horizon now. A Samsung forum moderator said, “Our specialists have given us the directive that an update is coming out to fix this issue specifically.” But the mod didn’t give a specific release date for the update. Piunikaweb speculates that Samsung could fix it before it starts rolling out Android Pie-based One UI to the Galaxy Note 9 early next year. We should expect the fix to arrive in the next few weeks.

Samsung to launch a new color variant of Galaxy Note 9

Samsung is preparing to launch Galaxy Note 9 in a new color variant on November 23rd. The Note 9 comes in five colors – Ocean Blue, Cloud Silver, Midnight Black, Metallic Copper, and Lavender Purple. The sixth will be a White color variant, according to EPrice. The new color option will first hit the store shelves in Taiwan before launching in other countries. Samsung is hoping that a new color option would boost sales of its flagship phablet during the holiday shopping season.

Notably, the White Galaxy Note 9 will be accompanied by a matching White-colored S Pen stylus. According to reports, there will be no change in the design of the handset, meaning the White color model will have the same specs and price tag as other variants of the Note 9.

The Note 9 sports a giant 6.4-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display, a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, a microSD card slot, and a giant 4,000mAh battery. The phone comes in 6GB+128GB and 8GB+512GB of RAM and storage options. You can add another 512GB of external memory if you want. It has two 12MP camera lenses on the back and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. Samsung has also upgraded the S Pen with Bluetooth capabilities. The phablet comes with an IP68 rating for water- and dust-resistance.

If you are planning to buy Galaxy Note 9, major retailers in the US have lined up some lucrative Black Friday deals on the device. Target is giving buyers a $300 Gift Card on the purchase of Note 9 if you activate it on Verizon or AT&T. Sam’s Club is also offering a similar $300 Gift Card to people who buy the Note 9 and activate it with select carriers. Best Buy is offering up to $300 in savings on the Note 9 upon successful activation on Sprint, AT&T, or Verizon. Walmart is also giving customers a $300 Gift Card on the purchase of Note 9, but only if you buy the device on a payment plan through AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon.
