Over the past few days, Nokia Lumia 1520 leaked images, and specs have been on the Internet through Windows Phone central and from @evleaks. If WP central is to be believed, then Nokia is keen to launch Lumia 1520 in an event to be held on September 26 and 27 in New York City.

Lumia 1520 may be a phablet

The device has been codenamed “Bandit” and is expected to have a screen size of 1080p, which is the largest and sharpest display among all Windows phone devices. Following the launch of Lumia 1520, other 1080p phones are also expected to be launched. Lumia 1520 is expected to have polycarbonate casing, and will be fitted with Qualcomm Snapdragon quad core processor and a 20 megapixel camera at the back.

If the screen size of the phone is 6 inches, then Nokia Lumia 1520 will be more in the category of a phablet, and will compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Mega, which has a screen size of 6.3 inches (a bit smaller than 7-inch smaller tablets like Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s Nexus or Samsung Galaxy tab).

Nokia Lumia 1020 available for pre-order

Earlier in July, Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V)  came up with a 41 megapixel pureview camera-studded Nokia Lumia 1020. Lumia 1020 has a screen size of 4.5 inches and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor.

Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) Lumia 1020 is stuffed with new features like a Nokia Pro camera, which enables professional-quality images. The user can see how the picture will look after a shot or before it is taken to choose final settings.

Another camera feature in the Lumia 1020 is dual capture that concurrently takes a high-resolution 38 megapixel image for editing, and also creates 5 megapixel snaps to share on social networks.

The device will be available from all big retailers and network operators including: 3, O2, Vodafone, EE, Phones 4U and Carphone from September 25. One can get a free Nokia Camera Grip, wireless charging back cover, wireless charging plate and tripod worth £150 on pre-ordering the Nokia Lumia 1020.
