Total miles traveled on all roads and streets were an estimated 263.6 billion miles in July, the U.S. Department of Transportation reports. This is a 1.6% increase from the 259.4 billion miles traveled July of 2012. The rolling 12 month total of vehicle miles driven is 2.9571 trillion miles.
The below map from the releases shows that in July vehicle miles driven increased the most Y/Y in the South Gulf region and increased the least in the Northeast and South Atlantic regions.
