Jailbreak Status: GSMagic Quits, 3K Jailbreak Is Fake

Updated on

Is jailbreaking dead? I don’t know, but what I can tell you is that if you’re running iOS 9.2, 9.2.1, 9.3, 9.3.1 and iOS 9.3.2 there is no current jailbreak solution available. Furthermore, in all of the current changes that are being made that effect those who want to jailbreak, are coming directly from Apple. As it is more quickly than ever stopping digitally signing versions of iOS that are considered not to be so old.

This Weeks Jailbreak Update

Unfortunately for you, if you where hoping for a possible jailbreak solution, the likes of TaiG and Pangu have not released anything new. And as it stands there are no rumors doing the rounds about a possible release either.

However, there has been movement from Apple since my last iOS jailbreak update, and all of it has been aimed (probably has been) at preventing jailbreaking and the ability to downgrade to earlier versions of iOS.

Update 1.

Starting with some iOS 9.2.1 news, Apple will no longer digitally sign it. This means that if you have an iPhone, iPod touch or an iPad and wanted to downgrade from iOS 9.3, 9.3.1 or even 9.3.2 it is now impossible to do so.

Update 2.

Just a few days ago, I wrote about how a team called GSMagic where going to release a jailbreak for iOS 9.3.3 on June the 10th. Unfortunately and I’m sorry to say this, but it turns out that it was another fake.

Jailbreak Fake GSMagic

Apparently, jailbreaking iOS 9.3.3 proved to be too difficult for the GSMagic team and in a tweet, they stated that in what seems like an apology to a follower called Carlos.

Update 3.

A few days after he first demoed the first jailbreak for iOS 9.3.3 beta 1, Luca Tedesco has popped up again. However, this time he’s showing off an iOS 9.3.2 jailbreak. Should I tell you any more about Luca Tedesco and his iOS swash bucking exploits? Personally, I don’t think so. As he never goes onto share his work publicly, so why show them off in the first place, it strikes me that there is a large ego at play.

Update 4.

Moving on, there is a fake iOS 9.3.x jailbreak software available online called “3K Jailbreak”. Claims on its download page, make out that it is from a team called 3K Assistant. However, it is not, it’s actually a fake and you should “NOT” consider using it at all. As it could potentially install viruses and malware onto your iOS device and computer. Do yourself a favour and stay away from it!

Just Wait and See

So as you can see, nothing positive has happened in the jailbreak world in the last few months or so. Yes, we’ve had a few fakes and what seems like those who want to keep a possible jailbreak to themselves.

However, could all of this be just there way of keeping jailbreaking alive and in the minds of fans? I’m not sure, but if you’re waiting for something to happen and your handset or tablet is becoming sluggish. Checkout an article I wrote about a piece of software called Semi-Restore it will enable you to restore your jailbroken iPhone or iPad without losing your jailbreak.
