Users utilize jailbreak for personal reasons also

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) devices have been the major target of theft over the last year, and executives have asked the company to take a step to prevent this. Michael Bloomberg, New York Mayor, said earlier that Apple gadgets are one of the causes for rising crime rates in the city.

CNET author Adrian Kinsley Hughes previously said that Apple included a new feature on its device not just to prevent the device from getting stolen but to reduce the theft rates of Apple devices in general. He said that the long-fought war of Apple makes sense now.

Hughes said that some smartphone users Jailbreak their devices for personal reasons also, like to use apps that are not present in the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) app store. However, Hughes said, “Apple has a duty to do everything in its power to thwart jail breakers at every opportunity.”

Apple unveiled Activation Lock earlier

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) unveiled the Activation Lock feature for their new iOS at WWDC, in June. The Activation Lock is meant for the safety of a device whereby the user’s Apple ID is needed even after cleaning out the whole device. Hughes feels that the Activation Lock feature needs to be kept updated all the time to make sense of a new activation lock. Additionally, he feels that sometimes there has been a glitch in the security measure, and it has been not updated for up to weeks or even months, so the Activation lock should be updated as often as possible to keep the device theft-free.

WCCF Tech blogger Adnan feels that there is a little possibility of jailbreaking iOS 7 devices, but feels that soon there will be a solution to Apple Inc’s latest attempt to prevent jailbreaking.
