iPhone 6 likely to arrive this fall
Christopher Caso, analyst for Susquehanna Financial Group, recently published an earnings estimate via an investor’s note. Although the Wall Street Journal reported the iPhone 6 will come out this summer, history shows Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) usually releases new smartphones in the early autumn. Like most analysts, Caso believes Apple will release the iPhone 6 with two size options.
He was quoted, “We expect that a smaller screen version of iPhone 6 will commence production in July, with a larger version beginning production in August. While we think the phone launch timing will be similar to last year, based on initial production forecasts, we think there is likely to be more volume available at launch as compared to last year.”
iPhone 6 price might go up
Another possibility for the iPhone is price. Will the phone’s price effectively match it’s features? There are rumors that Apple’s biggest rival, Samsung, could sell their upcoming smartphone for up to $600. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) thinks the advance in technology will help the price boost. Since analysts claim the South Korean tech giant makes little profit on their phones, the price increase may be important. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) makes great margins with the iPhone but may have to trade off price just to get back market shares lost to Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930).
There is another notable rumor regarding Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6 that involves making Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) a bigger name in the mobile gaming industry. It’s reported the iPhone 6 will feature dual-screens. The latest involves a concept design by Sahanan Yogarasa. The image shows a device made from aluminum and metal, with a display of 4K Ultra Retina. The internal features of this purported model include quad-core Apple A8 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 2.3 GHz.
