Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) is taking more interest in the gaming market says Aaron Coday, director of visual computing engineering at Intel, who cited various reasons for this transformation. In an interview with Jade Burke, the executive said that the company has noticed an increasing demand for gaming.

Intel wants to tap the growing gaming industry. Some people are saying that PC is dying, but from a financial view point it is advancing fairly well, believe Coday. At the end of 2013 there was $23 million business for PC gaming, which is expected to surge $32 billion by 2017.

Coday cited the possibilities that a CPU can create saying that an exciting thing about the mobile platform is that it uses the same graphics architecture as used in PCs, which create opportunities of doing some really interesting things for tablets, as well as PC.

In its second-quarter earnings report, Intel notices a rise in gaming interest, and now Intel is witnessing a growth in the PCs system builder market.

How Intel view Xbox One, PS4

Xbox One and PS4 are gaining larger market share as they are powered with new graphic capabilities and gaming facilities. On the challenges PCs will get from these new machines, Coday said that before the launch of Xbox One and PS4, PC overshadowed these gaming consoles and in the coming years PCs will be just as powerful and good or can be even a step ahead that the consoles.

“If you have enthusiasts they also usually play games on the PC and on the console, because there are games that you want to play on a PC and there are games that you want to play on a console,” he said.

Coday believes that PC games are better than consoles in some aspects as they have much more mobility. He justified his statement through an example saying that if a user can play Call of Duty at 1080p on an Ultrabook, it means that he or she can play it on the go, which is not a possibility with game consoles.
