Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4 To Have Similar Features? [CONCEPT]

Updated on

The Galaxy S5 has been confirmed to be announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. But the Galaxy Note 4 release is far away considering the Note 3 was released in October. The patents discovered last week show that the Galaxy S5 may have a curved display, making it look like the device has no bezel, though there are very slim side bezels. However, the patent created some confusion among concept designers because the S Pen visible at the bottom of the device indicates that it may be the concept of Galaxy Note 4.

Concept designer Ivo Maric used these patents to come up with a concept design of the Galaxy S5. This design shows a 5.25-inch edge-to-edge screen with a slight curvature to the right. Maric has made the frame of aluminum and incorporated faux leather as the battery cover. Notably, faux leather has been used in the Galaxy Note 3. Neither the patent nor Maric’s concept design feature a Home button.

The Galaxy S5 is rumored to sport a 16MP camera with ISOCELL technology, 64-bit true octa-core Exynos processor, an iris eye scanner, QHD display with 2,560 x 1,440-pixel resolution, a 4,000mAh battery, the latest Android 4.4 Kit Kat OS and a diamond-like coating. The Korean electronics giant is expected to announce the Exynos chip at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

3-sided display unlikely Galaxy S5

In another concept design, Jermaine Smit has used the same patent leaks to create the concept of the Galaxy Note 4. Smit’s concept has a metal casing, edge-to-edge display and no Home button. There haven’t been a lot of Galaxy Note 4 rumors, but reports suggest that the device may feature a three-sided display. That’s possible with Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930)’s Youm technology. The three-sided display is unlikely to come with the Galaxy S5.
