Galaxy Note 4: A New Concept That Highlights Its Design

Updated on

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) has confirmed nothing about its upcoming Galaxy Note 4 phablet. However, we have seen several concept designs, rumors and mock-ups in the past few months. The Korean company is expected to start manufacturing on the Galaxy Note 4 this month, for a possible release in September.

Galaxy Note 4 design still a mystery

Rumors suggest that the Galaxy Note 4 will be launched in two versions. One would feature Snapdragon 805 processor while another model will be equipped with the Exynos SoC. Besides, the device is likely to have a 5.7-inch QHD display, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, enhanced camera with optical image stabilization, the iris eye scanner, and Android KitKat OS. Latest whispers indicate that the Galaxy Note 4 might have an ultrasound S-pen stylus.

One thing that remains a big mystery is its design. Samsung has a solid track record of clamping down on the designs of its flagship devices ahead of their launch. In fact, the electronics giant has a small team dedicated to keeping prying eyes at bay. The Galaxy Note 3 design remained a mystery until the device was officially unveiled last year in Berlin. We haven’t heard many rumors about the overall design of Galaxy Note 4.

Galaxy Note 4: A New Concept That Highlights Its Design

Galaxy Note 4 design with edge-to-edge display

Now a new concept design by Rishi Ramesh emphasizes the design of the Galaxy Note 4. It shows a beautiful metallic design good enough to rival the upcoming iPhone 6. Ramesh’s rendering doesn’t borrow from the rumor mill. It has a gorgeous metal back. Reports suggest that Samsung is expected to launch smartphones with metal casing later this year.

The concept also shows a big edge-to-edge display with thin bezels. The camera sensor is embedded in the center-back of the Galaxy Note 4. The original phablet may be different from the rendering when it arrives. But Ramesh’ rendering is good enough to be the real deal. The Galaxy Note 4 is believed to be Samsung’s last chance to consolidate its position in the high-end smartphone market, especially after not-so-good response to the Galaxy S5.
