Facebook CEO to run 365 miles this year

Zuckerberg has named the campaign A Year of Running following up on his 2015’s Year of Books online book club. On the group Year of Running, users can share their experiences, and Zuckerberg said he will regularly post updates on it as well. The group has 43,000+ members so far with more to join in coming days.

“I’m going to run 365 miles and I’d love for as many people in this community to join me as possible,” Zuckerberg wrote in a Facebook post.

Zuckerberg said that he will keep track of his daily exercise and make use of the Nike+ app for doing so.

“This is a lot of running, but it’s not a crazy amount. It’s a mile a day, and at a moderate pace it’s less than 10 minutes of running per day,” Zuckerberg said encouraging his followers.

Building AI assistant: another challenge for 2016

This is the second challenge Zuckerberg has announced this year so far. He also intends to build an artificial intelligence assistant like Jarvis in Iron Man. In simple language, it can be said that the Facebook CEO plans to code a virtual system which will help him perform various tasks around the house by using voice controls.

Explaining what he expects of the virtual assistant, Zuckerberg said he will make it capable of recognizing the faces of visitors to his house when they ring the doorbell and then decide whom to let in and whom not. Zuckerberg will also teach the system to keep him alert of any unusual activity that takes place in his daughter’s room in his absence.

Facebook’s CEO is known for completing his resolutions, as he did by learning Mandarin, so it can be expected that he will stay dedicated to these new resolutions also. He even posted a personal photo in which he is seen running Monday night to show his followers that he is actually dedicated to his resolution.
