Apple iOS 8 Beta 3 Released: Download Now

Updated on

Apple released the third iOS 8 beta to developers on Monday. This beta update includes bug fixes and other improvements. The update is available for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

iOS 8 beta update comes one day early

It has been three weeks since the second iOS 8 beta update and over a month since Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) unveiled the new operating system at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference. This new software includes many features and upgrades such as Health app, interactive notifications, QuickType keyboard, Family Sharing, and more. Notable features include improved Messages that allow users to add their voice to conversations, send quick videos to other users, and easily share current location. The smarter keyboard feature also helps users by suggesting contextually proper words. It also recognizes who you are typing to in both Mail and Message applications.

Many Apple fans will also appreciate the Family Sharing feature which makes it easy for families or groups to share App Store purchases, iBook, and iTunes purchases.

Apple’s beta releases are on schedule

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) generally releases beta updates in two-week intervals before moving to three-week intervals during the testing period.  Last month it was reported the third beta for iOS 8 would be released on July 8th but it came out a day earlier.

This recent update comes right after the iPhone maker’s announcement of wiping Yosemite and CloudKit Data. This includes private and public databases. It takes effect today. It will erase data for iCloud Drive, Mail Drop, and iCloud Photo Library. It is expected Apple will officially release both iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite in the fall.

The third beta upgrade for iOS 8 should include fixes for the frequent crash and freezing incidents that affect the program’s native apps. We are still waiting for a more detailed release note in the near future.
