Apple Inc. iPhone 5S Sensors Are Messed Up, Causing A Serious Issue

Updated on

Now that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s latest shining gadget—the iPhone 5S—is released and available to the public, many reviewers have started to test and review this gadget. However, what may come as a surprise to you is that there’s a serious issue with the iPhone 5S.

Until now, many reports have suggested that the on-board sensors like the accelerometer, gyroscope and compass haven’t been working properly on some phones. VentureBeat’s test also indicates that there’s indeed a problem and the company has really “screwed up.”

Apple Inc. iPhone 5S Sensors Are Messed Up, Causing A Serious Issue

“My iPhone 5s is also off by 4 degrees when using the level on it’s back (screen up) I had an iPhone 4 and 4s that I upgraded to iOS 7 and both were perfect, but the 5s is off. Holding it vertically it is also off by 1 or 2 degrees,” reports an iPhone 5S owner at Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s support forum. Several such cases can be identified on the support forum.

When testing out with iHandy Level app, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPhone 5S shows that the “surface is level when the phone is clearly at an angle, and the Gyroscope app reports pitch and roll numbers that indicate the phone is on a slope when actually, it’s on a flat and level table.” When testing out with the same app on iPhone 5, results were pretty more accurate. Tests were performed on both the devices running on iOS 7. This means that the problem is not with iOS 7, but with the shipped hardware.

This is a serious issue as it has affected many iPhone 5S users. This issue can also be experienced with games that rely on sensors. Players who want to score better or beat the game will find it hard to do that; all because of faulty sensors.

Will Apple recall all faulty iPhone 5S?

The fault seems to be in the hardware as many devices run on iOS 7, but only the iPhone 5S has been reported with such issue.

Will Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) recall all faulty iPhone 5S? Will the fruit company give some kind of benefit to such users or will you have to live with it? We’ll let you know when Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) issues any statement regarding this.
