TiE SoCal (socal.tie.org), a non-profit organization supporting entrepreneurs, conducted its first ever fireside chat with some of the very best investment gurus on the planet. on February 11, 2015 at the UCLA Fowler Museum. You have probably seen Mihir Worah grace the pages of Wall Street Journal and Financial Times hundreds of times. Mihir Worah is the Chief Investment Officer of Real Returns and Asset Allocation and a Managing Director at PIMCO. PIMCO has over $1.7 trillion under management. Srinivas (Srini) Pulavarti is the President & Chief Investment Officer of the UCLA Investment Company. He and his small team manage over $2 billion for the endowment. Srini runs the endowment adhering to the principles of Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger. Mohnish Pabrai, who moderated the discussion, is the Managing Partner of Pabrai Funds and Dhandho Holdings. If you would have invested $100,000 when his fund started in 1999, it would be worth over $1.1 million today. He manages $850 Million and is the founder/chairman of The Dakshana Foundation. These three investment gurus cover different aspects and sectors of the investment business.
