PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG)’s zombie mode is now live and available to download on Android and iOS devices via the Play Store and App Store, respectively. Players have long been waiting for PUBG’s zombie mode, officially called “Survive Till Dawn,” and Tencent finally released it with the PUBG 0.11.0 update.

What you need to know about the PUBG 0.11.0 update

Tencent started rolling out the 0.11.0 update after eight hours of server maintenance. Previously the company had notified players of the scheduled downtime and about update 0.11.0, which arrived after it.

Tencent’s 0.11.0 update for PUBG includes several bug fixes and adds zombie mode. It is a limited-time mode, and you can find it under “Event Mode,” which is located beside the “Classic” and “Arcade” options.

According to the company, the PUBG 0.11.0 update is rolling out slowly across regions, so if you don’t see it right away, it will probably be available some time later today. The widely-anticipated PUBG 0.11.0 update follows an extended beta test which lasted about a month.

Unlike earlier updates that were available via an in-game update, the PUBG 0.11.0 update must be downloaded via the respective app stores. The 0.11.0 download size is 436 MB on Android devices, which is much smaller than some of the previous PUBG Mobile updates that went into the gigabytes.

PUBG’s zombie mode is being developed in partnership with RE Games in celebration of the launch of Resident Evil 2 for PC and consoles. Since it is a limited-time mode, it won’t be available permanently in PUBG Mobile. As the unofficial title suggests, players must fight zombies while trying to get the game’s “chicken dinner” reward.

How to download PUBG’s zombie mode

To download PUBG‘s zombie mode, you need working internet connectivity and about 1 GB of free space.

To download the update on Android devices, open the Play Store and tap on the three horizontal bars on the top-left corner. Now go to the “‘My apps & games” section and search for PUBG Mobile. Next, open the app and tap the “Update” button to download it. You can choose the “Download using Wi-Fi” only option if you want and then tap the “Proceed” button to start the download process.

For iOS users, go to the App Store and search for PUBG Mobile. Next, open the game and select the “Update” button. Next, authorize the download to start the process. Alternatively, users can tap the “Updates” section at the bottom and then select the “Update” button beside PUBG Mobile.

Once the update is installed (for both Android and iOS users), open the game and wait for the remaining process to finish. Once the process is complete, you will get a notification asking you to restart the game. Once you restart, you are ready to play.

The game’s main menu has been updated to reflect the new zombie mode. It now features the Raccoon Police Station and the Resident Evil theme music. Players will also be able to buy Resident Evil 2 outfits.

What else has changed in the PUBG 0.11.0 update?

In addition to adding zombie mode, the PUBG 0.11.0 update adds Moonlight mode to the Vikendi map. This new mode introduces new weather and a big visual change from the usual desert and snow-clad environment.

The PUBG 0.11.0 update also adds Sanhok to the Quick Match arcade mode, and some houses in the Vikendi map have also been improved. Additionally, the SMG and Assault Rifle war modes now have double the ammunition. New titles have also been added: the limited-time “Survivor” title and the permanent “#1/100” title.

The developer has also added a section called “Player Spaces,” which will display each player’s information and connections. You can also select a friend with Synergy 400 or above as a partner who will stand by your side in “your Space.” Tencent also added the Pandemic Treasure and Anniversary Treasure events.

“Celebrate the game’s anniversary with all kinds of rare finishes!” the developer said.

Further, the developer added anniversary emotes, avatars and frames, and anniversary items have been put on sale.

After the 0.11.0 update, character images and connections will now be visible on players’ profiles, and the terrain display issue on budget devices is fixed now. Further, data from older matches will only be stored for a month, and after that, it will be automatically deleted.
