Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) just unveiled the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 Plus, Apple Pay and the Apple Watch, but there are more goodies coming soon. Apple Insider reports that a source claims an iPad event will be scheduled sometime in mid- to late October.

Apple plans iPad event

The website says the source who shared this information has given reliable information in the past. The source reportedly said that Apple has set some “internal project and marketing deadlines” for the middle of next month before it unveils more new products.

We heard previously that Apple was planning another media event sometime in October. Also the time frame comes as no surprise because the company has shown off new iPads during the month in past years. For example, it unveiled the iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina display on Oct. 22, 2013. Apple made them available for purchase early the following month.

Apple is expected to show off the next iPad Air and iPad Mini at the event. Both are expected to have the Touch ID fingerprint scanner and run on the same A8 processor that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have.

Apple’s upcoming product pipeline

There have also been plenty of rumors about other upcoming products in Apple’s pipeline, although it seems less certain that they will also be unveiled. For example, the company has been rumored to be working a MacBook Air with Retina display, although the unveiling of that product is expected to be pushed into next year. The last MacBook Air was released in April without many changes but with a lowered price.

There have also been murmurings about new iMacs with Retina displays, although there doesn’t seem to be any solid evidence backing up a debut this year, according to Apple Insider. Another product that could get a Retina display at some point is the premium Thunderbolt Display, although it seems unlikely for now.

In addition, analysts have been talking about an updated Apple TV set-top box for some time, but it has yet to surface. Supposedly, the device will have some new input methods and be able to support third-party apps. However, it’s been said that Apple is being held up by negotiations with cable companies and owners of content, which could mean that the new box isn’t released until next year.
