The stock price of, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) is up by more than 4% to $402.61 per share around 2:30 P.M. in New York, prior to the release of its financial performance.

Analyst expectations for Amazon

Wall Street analysts expect, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) to report $318.87 million net income or $0.68 earnings per share for the fourth quarter. The estimate is higher than its $97 million or $0.21 earnings per share in the same period a year earlier.

Analysts estimated that the e-commerce giant will deliver $26.06 billion revenue, an increase of 22.5% from its $21.27 billion revenue in the year-ago quarter.

In a note to investors earlier this month, RBC Capital Markets analysts Mark Mahaney and Andrei Sequin said, “Amazon is one of the best plays on the 10 Internet growth factors (mobile, cloud, same-day delivery, alternative payments, etc…We believe Amazon is at a fundamental inflection point” regarding revenue growth and margin expansion.”

Based on the analyst expectation, the profit of, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) will increase by 225% in the fourth quarter of 2013 compared with its earning a year earlier. Market observers believe that the e-commerce giant generated strong sales from its products and services including video game consoles, Kindle devices, and subscription to Amazon Prime.

According to the company, its Kindle Fire tablets and Kindle e-readers recorded the best ever holiday sales during Cyber Monday. During the holidays,, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) shipped to 185 countries, and more than 50% of its customers shopped using mobile devices.

Prime members have “voracious appetite”
