In early 2015, Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) is set to hold its first-ever mobile developer conference. The event will take place on February 19th in San Francisco.

Yahoo mobile developer conference to feature Flurry

Yahoo announced the plans early Monday morning. It will feature Flurry, a mobile analytics and monetization company the search giant acquired last summer for over $300 billion. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of details on the event, but Yahoo is taking email addresses to send later updates. An official post on Tumblr offers the following:

Today, Americans spend more time on their smartphones than watching TV – making the mobile experience, and the job of mobile developers, more important than ever. Join us as we announce a suite of tools that will help mobile developers better understand their users and improve, grow and monetize their apps.

The conference will include speakers from Yahoo, app developers and Yahoo’s VP of Flurry products, Simon Khalaf’s State of Mobile address. Breakout sessions will help developers solve some of the biggest issues they’re facing in today’s crowded app market.

Yahoo searching a way to revamp mobile ad and analytics

There is a strong emphasis on Flurry and with a mention of tool suite, it is possible Yahoo may be searching for a way to revamp mobile ad and analytics. This “suite of tools” will mobile developers understand users better as well as improve, expand, and monetize apps. Right now, there is a huge market for mobile apps, so it’s no surprise Yahoo would want to in on the fun. This could be a big opportunity for the company to step up it’s game among competition from Google and Apple.

Simon Khalaf, vice president of Flurry products, will be given the conference platform for ‘State of Mobile’ address. The free conference will also feature internal Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) speakers, app developer speakers, and breakout sessions for app developers to tackle issues.
