Vivo S1 Pro vs Oppo F11 Pro [Specs Comparison]

Updated on

Just a couple of months ago, Chinese vendor Vivo unveiled the Vivo S1 phone running MediaTek Helio P70 processor. Now it has released the Vivo S1 Pro with better hardware specs in China. The S1 Pro caters to the same mid-range segment as the Oppo F11 Pro. Both Oppo and Vivo have been introducing cutting-edge design choices with their mid-range offerings. Here we compare the new Vivo S1 Pro with the Oppo F11 Pro in terms of design, specs, camera, and price to help you decide which one is a better buy.

Vivo S1 Pro vs Oppo F11 Pro

Both devices have a notch-less and nearly bezel-less design, thanks to the pop-up selfie camera. It allows them to expand the display rear estate without hurting the user experience. They still have a thin chin at the bottom. The rear panel of both handsets has a gradient finish, which gives them a premium feel.

Both handsets retain the 3.5mm headphone jack. While the S1 Pro has the pop-up selfie camera in the top-right corner, Oppo has placed it in the top-center. The selfie camera pops up whenever you need it.

The S1 Pro has a vertically aligned triple camera setup on the back. The fingerprint sensor is placed under the display, allowing you to unlock the device by placing your finger on the screen. It comes in Love Blue and Coral Red color options. The Vivo S1 Pro has a dedicated button the left side to trigger the Jovi personal assistant. The Vivo handset measures 157.25 x 74.71 x 8.21mm and weighs 185g.

In contrast, the Oppo F11 Pro gets a dual camera setup on the back. The fingerprint sensor is placed below the vertical camera module. It’s fast and secure, but not as convenient as the in-display fingerprint sensor on the S1 Pro. It measures 161.3 x 76.1 x 8.8 mm and weighs 190g. Oppo sells the F11 Pro in Aurora Green and Thunder Black colors.

Display

The S1 Pro gets an OLED display while the F11 Pro features a traditional IPS LCD screen. It means the new Vivo phone delivers more accurate and vibrant colors than its rival. It enhances the experience when you are playing games or watching movies.

The Vivo S1 Pro features a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED notch-less display. It has a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, a screen-to-body ratio of 91.64%, and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The fingerprint sensor is integrated under the display.

The Oppo F11 Pro also has a full-screen display, albeit a slightly larger and inferior one. It gets a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel with Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. It offers 397ppi of pixel density, 90.9% screen-to-body ratio, and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

Internal specs

The Vivo S1 Pro runs Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 675 processor paired with Adreno 612 graphics processor. It has a Multi-Turbo acceleration engine to offer a lag-free gaming experience. It comes in two different RAM and storage configurations: one with 6GB RAM and 256GB storage and another with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. That’s a strange combo, but it’s good to give customers different choices.

The S1 Pro also has a microSD card slot that supports external memory of up to 256GB. The phone runs Android 9 Pie software with Vivo’s custom Funtouch 9 OS skin on top. It is powered by a 3,700mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging. It charges through a microUSB port. The battery is large enough to last a full day of normal usage.

The Oppo F11 Pro runs MediaTek’s octa-core Helio P70 processor paired with Mali-G72 graphics processor. It comes with 6GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage options. Just like S1 Pro, it has a microSD card slot for external storage of up to 256GB.

The F11 Pro packs a larger 4,000mAh battery with 20W VOOC Flash Charge 2.0 technology for fast charging. Just like the S1 Pro, it relies on microUSB port for charging. It runs Oppo’s ColorOS 6 skin on top of Android 9 Pie.

Camera

The camera is the biggest highlight of Vivo S1 Pro. It has a vertically aligned triple camera setup on the back. It consists of a 48MP primary lens with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The AI triple camera has many features such as Panorama, beauty mode, and AR shoot.

For selfies, it gets a 32MP pop-up camera on the front. Vivo claims the pop-up mechanism lifts the selfie camera in just 0.68 seconds. It can also withstand pulling and twisting.

The Oppo F11 Pro gets a 48-megapixel primary lens with f/1.8 aperture and a 5-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, it has a 16-megapixel Rising Front camera with f/2.0 aperture. It comes with the Ultra Night Mode, Dazzle Color Mode, AI Scene Recognition, and Beautification mode to deliver perfect images.

Price

The Vivo S1 Pro is set to go on sale in China on May 9th. The company has already started accepting reservations via its website. Strangely, both the 6GB+256GB and 8GB+128GB variants of the device have the same price tag of CNY 2,698 ($400) in China. It’s up to you to decide whether you want to compromise on RAM or storage.

The Oppo F11 Pro has been launched in India at Rs 24,990 ($360) for the 6GB+64GB variant. The Vivo S1 Pro is a little expensive, but it gets you a superior AMOLED display, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and a third camera lens on the back. Oppo has also launched an Avengers edition of the device in blue color gradient and with the Avengers logo at the bottom. It packs 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and costs Rs 27,990.
