Actor Shia LaBeouf is expected to see a judge today after he was kicked out of a Broadway performance of Cabaret at Studio 54 on Broadway. According to CNN, those who were at the performance said his behavior was very bizarre. Some reportedly thought he was drunk. He now faces charges of disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.

Show goers said LaBeouf was staggering around the theater wearing a torn shirt and smoking a cigarette inside the theater. The Transformers star reportedly mixed with the crowd and then approached a woman at the bar, fed her a strawberry, and gave the bartender a tip. He also apparently interrupted Act 1 of the play, spouting obscene language and behaving disruptively.

Theater workers asked the actor to leave because he was smoking a cigarette. He refused to leave, however, so police had to escort him out. After officer took him outside and began talking to him, he reportedly started to cry. At least one woman who saw the actor’s behavior thought he was just “working on a role or something.” She called him “brilliant.”

After police took him to the station, his odd behavior reportedly continued, as police said he was talking non-stop and doing pushups, according to the NY Daily News.

LaBeouf’s history of odd behavior

Shia LaBeouf started a performance art exhibit earlier this year in Los Angeles. It’s called “#IAMSORRY, and in it, he apologized for a long list of things while wearing a paper bag on his head. It would seem that after Thursday’s outburst, he has another item to add to that list. It’s unknown whether this week’s outburst is related to that exhibit, but in February, he also acted very strangely at the Berlin Film Festival. At that time he also was wearing a paper bag over his head.

In addition to starring in Transformers, some of the other movies he has acted in include Nymphomaniac, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, and Disturbia.
