Mercury News reports that the Tesla Motors Club is organizing the conference, which is set for July. The club has about 6,000 active members, and it operates online forums that have become very popular in terms of information, both for Tesla owners and enthusiasts and also for journalists.

The Teslive conference is meant to be like a Macworld conference, only for Tesla, and it’s being set up as a partnership between the Tesla Motors Club and Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA). It will last for two days and will bring owners of Tesla vehicles and employees of the automaker together to share knowledge and information.

Teslive begins July 12 in Milpitas, Calif. at the Crowne Plaza San Jose-Silicon Valley. Saturday’s schedule includes a number of breakout sessions and a party that’s sponsored by Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA). The following day may feature a convoy of Tesla vehicles driving through the hillside area.

There’s a $200 fee for attendees who register before May 15, although only 300 people may attend. Organizers said if this year’s conference is a success, they hope to make it an annual conference that becomes bigger and bigger year after year.

Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) has been in the news a lot lately, both because its stock been setting new all-time highs recently and also because of CEO Elon Musk’s push for the company to be allowed to continue selling its vehicles directly to consumers rather than by going through dealerships.
