Pokemon Go’s Halloween event has begun worldwide. The augmented reality mobile game that puts Pokemon in the real world will give trainers more opportunities to catch the spookiest creatures this Halloween. The scary creatures will include Haunter, Gengar, Ghastly, Hypno, Golbat, Zubat and Drowzee.
Tempting players to play more
Pokemon Go was the most popular game of the summer, but as winter comes and temperatures drop, roaming around with your smartphone on display may not be the fun way to spend your evenings. But Niantic has come up with a trick to tempt people to get back out and catch some Pokemon.
For returning players, there is now a motivation to play quite hard for the next few days. The gaming giant is also including more candies at every place to keep up with the Halloween theme. Also players will receive twice the number of candies for catching and transferring Pokemon and quadruple the candies for walking with their buddy Pokemon, notes The Guardian.
The special Halloween event runs from October 26 to November 1, so if you are planning to catch some scary Pokemon, then get out and catch ‘em all.
Will it be enough for Pokemon Go players?
Pokemon Go is one of the most profitable games in the world, and with this seasonal event, the gaming giant Niantic is attempting to keep that momentum going. Also this is the first ever in-game event planned by developer Niantic for Pokemon Go, says a report from VentureBeat.
The popular mobile game is not introducing any new content, just a remix of the standard game. This shows Niantic’s potential to stir up excitement just by giving players spooky creatures that they do not normally see. It is all pretty amazing if you are one of the people who are still playing the popular mobile game. However, in comparison to the massive multiplayer scenarios that the developer hinted at in the run-up to the launch of the game, this Halloween event is not that huge.
Pokemon Go’s first trailer released over a year ago hinted at massive real-world events driven by the hunt for rare Pokémon. In the trailer, hundreds of players were seen amassing in New York’s Times Square to battle the legendary Pokémon Mewtwo. The game still boasts 30 million players.
