PIA Said To Serve Moldy Food [PHOTOS]

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) now faces multiple accusations of serving bad food. This latest accusation comes from Facebook user Sara Zafar Malik, who alleges that the airline served moldy food to her two-year-old daughter.

The Facebook user also posted a picture showing a piece of bread that’s clearly speckled with mold. The bread or dinner roll is sitting on a tray, and she states that PIA gave it to her young daughter. She is now seeking to get her Facebook post circulated as much as possible throughout the social network in order to get the word out about what happened.

“Well, this is what PIA gave my 2 year old daughter on the tray. I cannot tag PIA but I want this post to be shared as much as possible,” she wrote in her Facebook post. “We love our country but Pakistan Air Lines should definitely pack der [sic] bags.”

ValueWalk has reached out to Malik for a comment and will update this story if we receive a reply. In the comments on her post, several others spoke out about their bad experiences with PIA. Several said they stopped flying with PIA some time ago because they found the service to be poor. Others asked what the response was when she spoke to management on the airplane, but she had not responded to those questions in the comments as of this writing.

Not the first food complaint against PIA

She isn’t the only one accusing PIA of serving bad food. According to a report in The Express Tribune last week, Sibtain Ahmed, a Pakistani who was overseas, filed an official complaint with the Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis at the Federal Ombudsman earlier this month.

He claimed that on Flight PK-785 from London to Islamabad in March, PIA served bad food to its passengers. The Express Tribune report did not provide further details on what was meant by the complaint. It doesn’t say whether the food was rotten or just of poor quality. He also complained that other services were bad. As a result, the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat has asked PIA’s managing director for a report about that flight.
