OnePlus has been teasing the OnePlus 6 for the past several weeks. The Chinese company has officially confirmed the phone’s key design elements and specifications, and recent leaks and rumors have left little to the imagination. Now an accessories maker has shared OnePlus 6 case renders, showing the phone in its full glory. Olixar, which makes cases and screen protectors for smartphones, has a history of revealing the accurate design of unannounced devices.
Olixar has started taking pre-orders for OnePlus 6 cases and covers on MobileFun. The company is offering a Leather-style wallet case, a FlexiShield case, an ArmourDillo protective case, an ExoShield Touch Snap-on case, and a combo of Sentinel case and glass screen protector. All the cases are priced between $7.4 and $35.49. MobileFun also lists many other OnePlus 6 accessories such as charging adapters, car holders, charging docks, compatible USB-C cables, and some Bluetooth devices.
Olixar’s images reveal that the smartphone will have a notch similar to Apple’s iPhone X. It doesn’t come as a big surprise. Recently, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei told media that the upcoming flagship would include the notch to offer maximum screen space. OnePlus is expected to give users the option to hide the notch by blacking it out. Carl Pei has said that OnePlus had tested the notch with top 1,000 Android apps in the Google Play Store to ensure that users get a seamless experience.
The OnePlus 6 case renders show that it has no bezels on the front panel. Smartphone vendors tend to provide the accessories makers with dimensions of their upcoming phones based on CAD files before launch. It helps ensure that accessories are available when the phone goes on sale. So, there is a good chance the OnePlus 6 case renders depict what the actual phone would look like.
On the back panel, the dual cameras are arranged vertically and positioned in the center. That’s a departure from the horizontally arranged cameras in the top left corner on OnePlus 5 and 5T. Right underneath the camera sensor is the LED flash and a pill-shaped fingerprint sensor that appears to be smaller than the circular fingerprint reader on the back of OnePlus 5T.
The OnePlus 6 case renders also confirm that the Alert Slider has been relocated to the right, above the power button. The volume rockers remain on the left, though. Earlier this week, OnePlus shared a teaser image on Twitter by placing the OnePlus 6 under a OnePlus 5T. The teaser also suggested the new placement for the Alert Slider and the possibility of a glass back panel, which would facilitate wireless charging.

Olixar’s OnePlus 6 case renders suggest that the phone’s rear panel would have a flat, matte design rather than a textured one. Recent rumors claimed that the device could have a textured design on the back.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau recently said in a forum post that the upcoming flagship would be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC and up to 8GB RAM. The device would offer up to 256GB internal storage. There is also expected to be a 6GB RAM option. Earlier this week, the OnePlus 6 leaked in Black, White, and Blue colors. OnePlus has also partnered with Marvel Studios to launch an Avengers-themed variant of the device.
The OnePlus 6 would sport an AMOLED display with 1080 x 2280 resolution. It is rumored to pack a 3,450mAh battery, a 16-megapixel selfie camera, and a combination of 20MP and 16MP rear cameras. It would be capable of recording 4K videos at 60 frames per second. According to Chinese site MyDrivers, it would offer Dual-Channel UFS 2.1 storage that would support speeds of up to 1.5GB/s.
The OnePlus 6 will likely run Android 8.1 Oreo-based OxygenOS software. Recently, OnePlus Bullets Wireless earbuds appeared on a Bluetooth certification site. It has fueled speculations that the wireless headphones could be launched alongside OnePlus 6. The OnePlus Bullets Wireless headphones run Qualcomm chipset and are based on Bluetooth v4.1. The OnePlus 6 would retain the 3.5mm audio jack, though.
OnePlus 6 could be unveiled later this month or in early May. Since OnePlus will launch an Avengers-themed model of the handset, it makes sense for the company to launch the device around the Avengers: Infinity War release. The movie is set to release on April 27th. Last year, OnePlus had launched a Star Wars variant of OnePlus 5T in select markets. A Chinese retailer claims the OnePlus 6 would release on May 5th.
