A new Galaxy Fold 2 concept has been shared on Instagram, and tech blogs have been quick to pick it up. While it is interesting, it remains an unofficial idea for Samsung’s next foldable device, which might not end up resembling it.
The Galaxy Fold 2 concept features a device with a screen that folds in half like a book, similar to the current Galaxy Fold model. When it’s unfolded, it looks like a tablet, and then both sides of the screen fold in along a hinge.

Obviously, no matter what Galaxy Fold 2 concept Samsung goes with, it must do something about the technical problems that have plagued the first model in the series. The company isn’t saying a lot about what the Fold 2 will look like, although nearly month ago, it did offer this short YouTube video, which may give us an idea about what to expect from its next foldable device.
Based on this video, it seems that Samsung could opt for a different design with the Galaxy Fold 2, although we will have to wait until next year to find out exactly what that entails. It also suggests that the Korean tech giant might be working on more than one type of foldable technology, which means there could be a clamshell design too at some point.
Other rumors about Samsung’s next foldable device
We have heard other hints and ideas for a Galaxy Fold 2 concept. For example, tech tipster Ishan Agarwal said last week that a phone with the model number SM-F700 will launch in black and purple with 256 GB of storage. Supposedly, it’s a cheaper Fold model that will offer only 4G support.
I can confirm that SM-F700 (4G only) (another Samsung Galaxy Fold series phone) will be launching in two colour options, Black and Purple. Storage will be 256GB. Supposedly cheaper and definitely coming to multiple countries, including India, US, Korea, China and EU region. pic.twitter.com/p9YWleGym9

The Bell reported that the Galaxy Fold 2 is actually code-named Bloom, and Sammobile reportedly confirmed that. Sammobile also said software development for the device was just getting underway.
Some reports have suggested an April launch for the Galaxy Fold 2, although the timing of it remains unclear.
