Taiwanese actor and singer Jimmy Lin is a big fan of Apple products. He is known for posing with unannounced iPhones. In 2012, he posted a picture of himself holding an iPhone 5 on Weibo. It was a collage showing the device from all the angles. Again in 2014, he posted a selfie with the iPhone 6. Apple employees in Hong Kong later confirmed that the iPhone 6 image leaked by Jimmy Lin was genuine. Now the popular actor has been photographed holding an iPhone 7 Plus in his hand.

Jimmy Lin confirms dual-camera in iPhone 7 Plus

The image was posted by Yeah1.com (via PhoneArena). You can clearly see the dual-camera on the back of the phone along with LED flash. Given Jimmy Lin’s track record, we can be pretty sure that the smartphone in his hands is the real deal. Almost half of the phone is hidden behind his palm, so it’s difficult to say whether the rumored Smart Connector will be included in the device.

Apple is said to unveil the new iPhones at a special event on September 7. The company will reportedly send out invites for the event soon. Noted leaker Evan Blass believes that pre-orders for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will begin on September 9. Previously, there were speculations that the Cupertino company will introduce a third variant called iPhone 7 Pro, but a new report from MacOtakara claims that Apple has killed the Pro version.

iPhone 7 cases leaked

Separately, Phone Arena has leaked bumpers and cases of both the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, confirming key details. The images don’t have any openings on the back, indicating that the Smart Connector may not be included in the new iPhones. These cases and bumpers are set for a September 15 delivery. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will reportedly hit the store shelves on September 23.

The new phones will retain the design elements of the iPhone 6S, but there will be some key differences. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are said to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack, and feature redesigned antenna lines. While the smaller iPhone 7 will get Optical Image Stabilization, its bigger sibling will sport a dual-camera setup. The larger variant is expected to get 3GB RAM.
