Apple’s latest mobile operating system, iOS 7, comes with an all new look, and can rightly be called ‘redesigned’. So if you like the design changes, the look and feel of iOS 7, then here’s a new Chrome extension just for you.

iOS 7 Chrome extension

iOS 7 New Tab Page is a Chrome extension, as the name suggests, which replaces the regular new tab page with the one that looks exactly like iOS 7. When you install this extension on your Chrome browser and open a new tab, you’ll see the familiar iOS 7 style with many app icons. In fact, you might even think that you’re in front of a big iPad screen.

You can arrange these apps, or rather shortcuts, with your mouse, and if you’re on a touchscreen device, then the experience can be even better. Simply drag and drop icons to their new position, as you see fit. By default, the extension comes with a variety of apps like Gmail, Twitter, Facebook, Bing, CNN, MSN, Dropbox, Vimeo, AOL, Reddit and many more. These are simply shortcuts that will take you to their respective websites.

You can activate the editing mode by clicking and holding the mouse button over an item for a few seconds. Once you’re in this mode, you can remove unwanted apps from your home screen. This mode also lets you move or rearrange items.

The Settings page can be accessed by clicking on “Settings” from the new tab page. From here, you can export the full list of icons, customizations and settings, and can also import it. You can change wallpaper, or even add your own app. To add an app, simply type the app’s name, URL and icon URL (which is mandatory) and then click on the “Add” button.

Overall this is a nice Chrome extension, especially if you love iOS 7. Try it out and who knows, this might replace your old new tab page for good.
