As we’ve informed earlier, Google Now was launched for the iOS platform. But the problem is that Google Now doesn’t work outside the US and UK, and because of this many people were still not able to get their hands on Google Now. But fear not, we’ve got a way to enable Google Now in unsupported countries, no jailbreak required.
If you happen to live in a country where Google Now is supported, then that’s great. But if you’re not, then you’ll get a message like “Google Now isn’t yet available in this country.” Does this mean that you’re out of luck and couldn’t try this out right now? Well, there’s a small method to bypass this restriction placed by Google. Let’s take a closer look at it.
Note that you do not need a jailbroken iPhone or iPad for this method to work. You just need to change the country settings and you’re good to go.
Step 1. Launch the Settings app and tap on General.
Step 2. Tap on International and then on the Region Format option.
Step 3. From this screen, change the country to what’s currently supported by Google such as the United States. Once that’s done, launch the Google Search app and try out Google Now.
By following the above method, your phone number format would also change, but then you’d have to sacrifice something to try out something new. Of course you can revert back the changes you’ve just made at any time.
According to Google “Google Now and voice search will make your day run a little smoother.” Well, we leave that to you to decide. Let us know your opinion on Google’s new offering for iPhone and iPad.
