Google Pixel 4 Models Revealed
Google teased its upcoming Pixel 4 on Twitter, which was a completely out of character move by the tech company. However, the images posted by Google confirmed that at least some of the leaked information we have been hearing in recent weeks is true. Now, thanks to a report from TechRadar exposing more leaks, we have a little more information on what to expect in the new phones.
Display Sizes
One source of information that has proven to be reliable in the past has now revealed more information about the Google Pixel 4 models. @OnLeaks tweeted that the size of the new phones will be slightly larger than the Google Pixel 3. He posted high definition renders of the phone just over a week ago, and updated that thread with what he expects the size of the display to be in each respective device.
According to him, the Google Pixel 4 display will “likely (be) between 5.6-inch and 5.8-inch display + roughly 147.0 x 68.9 x 8.2 mm (9.3 including rear camera bump).” The Google Pixel 4XL will “likely (be) between 6.2-inch and 6.4-inch display + roughly 160.4 x 75.2 x 8.2 mm (9.3 including rear camera bump).” This means the Google Pixel 4 models will have a larger display than the previous generation did.
CAD Images
Another tweet, this time from Ben Geskin, showed CAD designs of the Google Pixel 4, which depict a square bump housing the camera unit. The design is very similar to that of the upcoming iPhone 11, and that fact is not lost on tech followers. Many of the comments mentioned what is commonly becoming known as the “forehead” on the Google Pixel 4 models. Some comments questioned how Google could have stolen the iPhone design so early in the year, while others expressed their dislike of the camera unit’s appearance. The images are almost identical to what Google has revealed, although the front of the phone has not been shown to the public yet. It appears that Google may ditch the notch design for a full bezel at the top of the display.

Upcoming Launches
The Google Pixel 4 models will face stiff competition in the market, as competitors are already lining up. The Apple iPhone 11 is expected to be launched in September, a full month before Google’s typical launch of its new devices. There will also be the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 to consider, although its launch is further in the future. Huawei is a fourth strong competitor in the mobile device market, in spite of tariffs and sanctions imposed against China by the US. China is the single largest market region for mobile devices, as many Chinese consumers have begun migrating to Huawei devices as a means of protesting the US vs China trade war.
Whether or not the Google Pixel 4 models will be able to compete in the global market is yet to be seen. We are still waiting on more details to emerge regarding the final design, as the launch is still a little more than 3 months away.
