If you have been eagerly waiting for the launch of Gears of War 4, then wait no more; the game will finally be in your hands later this year. The release date is set for October, starting the next chapter in the Lancer-revving Gears of War saga. This amazing news was announced by Xbox Wire.
A game worth waiting for
In case you do not have a calendar nearby, it means that Gears fans still have six more months to wait. It is a long wait, but it’s worth it before finally being able to pick up the tale of muscle-bound heroes fighting giant, ugly bug monsters. Also Gears fans will be playing Gears 4 this holiday season, exclusively on Xbox One and PC, so it’s all worth the time.
“Gears fans, mark your calendars, as the next chapter in the Lancer-revving Gears of War saga is set to begin on Oct. 11 with the release of Gears of War 4,” read the Xbox Wire post.
As the post pointed out, it has been almost a year since Gears of War 4 made its worldwide debut at E3 2015. A complete year says a lot as the development team has had enough time to make some really cool gaming events for the upcoming title. And with the launch still six more months away, the team has plenty of time to make some last-minute changes, tighten all the bolts and get ready to roll this fall.
Gears of War 4 beta next month
Xbox Wire revealed only the launch date, while no other information concerning JD Fenix and the next generation of Gears heroes has been provided by the gaming company. Gears 4 is the beginning of a new saga for the series, and the Xbox Wire post reiterates this, adding that a new band of heroes will rise to confront a fearsome new threat.
Also the announcement says Gears fans can expect a familiar yet distinct evolution of gameplay, including a genre-defining multiplayer mode, heart-pounding campaign, brutal and intimate action, and stunning visuals. This will all be brought to fans through Unreal Engine 4.
Later this month, the team is kicking off a Gears of War 4 beta to get the multiplayer component ready for prime time. Fans who played Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will get preference in the beta starting April 18. The invitation will then expand to all Xbox Live Gold members on April 25.
