Samsung has yet another device in the works that may hit the store shelves soon. While we have heard plenty of rumors about Galaxy S6 Active, Galaxy S6 Plus and Galaxy Note 5, the Korean company may soon launch a new smartphone called Galaxy J7. Last month, Galaxy J7 was spotted getting certified by Bluetooth SIG and China’s TENAA. Ahead of its launch, the Kazakhstan-based online retailer Alser has revealed all the details of Galaxy J7.
Galaxy J7 to start shipping in August
The retailer has listed the device on its website. It has also started taking pre-orders, but claims that the Galaxy J7 will start shipping only in August. According to the listing, the device has been priced at KZT 49,990 ($268). Note that Samsung has not officially revealed the launch date or any other details of its upcoming smartphone.
According to the listing, the Galaxy J7 will feature a 5.5-inch HD TFT LCD screen, a 13-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel front snapper, an octa-core Marvell PXA1936 chipset with 1.2Ghz clock speed, and 1.5GB RAM. The phone will have 16GB of built-in storage, expandable up to 128GB via microSD slot. The listing mentions that the Galaxy J7 will run Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.
Galaxy J7 a mid-range phone?
The pricing suggests that J7 is unlikely to be a high-end smartphone. Since Alser is a third-party online retailer, we cannot say for sure whether the specifications or launch price are true. Earlier this month, Samsung had accidentally listed the Galaxy S6 Active on its website with all the details, but took it down quickly. The ‘Active’ models are usually rugged versions of Samsung’s flagship phones.
According to the leaked listing, the S6 Active will have the same set of specifications as the Galaxy S6, but with a sturdier body. The handset sports a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, an octa-core Exynos 7420 processor and 32GB of in-built storage. The phone features a 16MP main camera and 5MP front camera. It has a 2550mAh battery and weighs 138g. Samsung is yet to announce the S6 Active.
