Remember the popular Flappy Bird game that has remained in a lot of limelight a few months back? Yes, the game is back but with some new twists and a catch. The developer of the game, Dong Nguyen has promised that it will make a comeback, but he hasn’t given any timeframe, but now the game has returned. The game was so popular that it was earning around $50,000 per day from ad revenues, before it was pulled from the app stores by the developer.
This time, the game is called as Flappy Birds Family, and it’s a step up from the original Flappy Bird, as it also comes with support for multiplayer. Earlier Nguyen said that the new version will be less addictive, and will offer new elements for satisfaction of the player. The new game comes with some brand new obstacles, as well as ghosts in your way. Of course, making a high score is still a challenge, and the multiplayer part will make it more addictive.
Flappy Birds Family is only available for the Fire TV
Now, coming to the ‘catch’ part. The game is only available to download from the Amazon Appstore for users having an Amazon Fire TV set-top box. The game, for now, is not available on Apple’s App Store or on Google Play. It is only compatible with Amazon’s Fire TV platform.
“Flappy Birds now are on Amazon Fire TV with incredible new features: Person vs Person mode, more obstacles, more fun and still very hard,” the game’s description reads. “Enjoy playing the game at home (not breaking your TV) with your family and friends.”
Flappy Birds Family, despite being available on Amazon’s App Store is not supported on any other Android device, nor Amazon’s own newly announced Fire smartphone, or on the Kindle Fire tablets.
Right now it’s not clear when this game, or a different version of Flappy Birds will be launched on the App Store or Play Store. We’ll let you know when that happens.
