FBN Also Notches Total Day Win over CNBC in Business Day Viewers

Lou Dobbs Tonight Leads Business News as Number One in Total Viewers and 25-54 Demo

FOX Business Network (FBN) continued its winning streak over CNBC, topping the network in both Business Day and Total Day viewers during the week of October 16th-October 20th, according to Nielsen Media Research.

As the markets continue to hit new record highs with the Dow Jones Industrial Average passing the historic 23,000 mark, FBN’s Business Day coverage saw a 29 percent advantage over rival CNBC with 212,000 total viewers compared to CNBC’s 164,000 for the week. Additionally, FBN’s Total Day coverage saw a 7 percent advantage with 161,000 total viewers compared to CNBC’s 151,000.

For the 61st consecutive week, Lou Dobbs Tonight (7-8p/ET) was the number one rated news program in business television with 392,000 total viewers, as well as the week’s number one rated business news program in the age 25-54 demo with 49,000 total viewers. Additionally, both Mornings with Maria (6-9a/ET) and Varney & Co. (9a-12p/ET) scored both total viewer and 25-54 rating sweeps over CNBC.

Along with Dobbs, FBN’s Varney & Co (9a-12p/ET), CAVUTO Coast to Coast (12-2p/ET), Countdown to the Closing Bell with Liz Claman (3-4p/ET), and The Intelligence Report with Trish Regan (2-3P/et) were among the six top rated programs for the week. Additionally, Risk & Reward (5-6p/ET) dominated it’s CNBC competition in total viewers for the 24th consecutive week.
